The town of El Alto (Coahuila) belongs to the municipality of Ramos Arizpe. The Magical Town of Arteaga is 27 minutes away by car (27 km).

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as El Alto de Santa Cruz. The inhabitants of the community became separated from those of Ramos Arizpe in the year 2018. This town decided to change its name in the year 2018.
