The town of Santa Cruz (Baja California) belongs to the municipality of Tecate. The Magical Town of Tecate is 10 minutes away by car (10 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #176 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Rancho Santa Cruz, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
