The place of El Coco is inside the municipality of Centla (in the State of Tabasco). There are 17 inhabitants. In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #137 of the ranking.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as San José (El Coco de Simón Sarlat). In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
