With the name of “Paga y gana” (“Pay and win”) the Mexican State of Coahuila will launch in 2017 a raffle with a big prize of one Porsche, along with several houses, beach vacations, and grants to go University. To be eligible to enter the raffle, entrants must simply pay their taxes during the first three months of the year.
The announcement was made in December by Mr. Díaz García, the Head of the Treasury in Coahuila, who had to insist that it was not a joke. “It will be an extra incentive to obtain a higher number of payments through the vehicle tax rates during 2017”.
The Porsche will cost “close to two million of Mexican pesos” (97,000 USD), and the officials are checking now the availability of the models in all the car dealers of Mexico, to choose the exact model to be raffled.
In addition to the Porsche, which will be the first price, the participants will be able to win “two houses” (one in the locality of Torreon and another one in Saltillo), “20 beach vacations” in Cancún, “10 cars” (with a lower value than the Porsche), and “grants to study in the Iberoamerican University Torreón“, a Jesuit University located in Coahuila.
