The town of San José (Hidalgo) belongs to the municipality of Mineral de la Reforma. There are 1,440 inhabitants and it is 2,342 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Real de Monte is 21 minutes away by car (17 km). It is the most populated town in the position #32 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Fraccionamiento San José. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
