The town of El Yuma belongs to the municipality of Tijuana (State of Baja California). The Magical Town of Tecate is 54 minutes away by car (39 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #503 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Rancho el Yuma, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
