The town of La Cañada (Tlaxcala) belongs to the municipality of Hueyotlipan. There are 26 inhabitants and it is 2,560 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Tlaxco is 46 minutes away by car (43 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #17 of the ranking.

The locality was formerly known as Las Cañadas, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to be annexed to Hueyotlipan in the year 2019. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
