The town of Candelaria (Hidalgo) belongs to the municipality of Huejutla de Reyes. There are 1,019 inhabitants and it is 188 meters altitude. It is the most populated town in the position #22 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as La Candelaria, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2020.
