The town of La Huaracha belongs to the municipality of Celaya (State of Guanajuato). The Magical Town of Comonfort is 15 minutes away by car (15 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #246 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as José Martínez (Cuarta Fracción la Concepción), but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2019.
