The town of Huaxtla belongs to the municipality of La Yesca (State of Nayarit). There are 5 inhabitants and it is 1,123 meters altitude. It is the most populated town in the position #66 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as Huaista (Huaxtla), but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
