The town of Aurora belongs to the municipality of Etchojoa (State of Sonora). There are 3 inhabitants and it is 37 meters altitude. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #178 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Granja Aurora, but changed its name a few years ago. In 2020, the authorities declared it uninhabited.
