The town of Colinas del Sol (Baja California) belongs to the municipality of Tijuana. There are 1,145 inhabitants and it is 299 meters altitude. It's a beach town: the beach of Playa Taiti is 10 km away. The Magical Town of Tecate is 64 minutes away by car (51 km). It is the most populated town in the position #24 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as Fraccionamiento Colinas del Sol, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
