The town of Jocoqui (Guanajuato) belongs to the municipality of Apaseo el Grande. There are 3,346 inhabitants and it is 1,775 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Comonfort is 23 minutes away by car (22 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #4 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as El Jocoque, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2014.
