The town of Los Arvizu belongs to the municipality of Cajeme (State of Sonora). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #349 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Campo Ocho y Medio, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2015, the locality changed its name.
