This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Tarcuiloya. In the year 2019, the locality changed its name.
The town of El Mosquito is located at 58.5 kilometers from Puente de Camotlán, which is the most populated locality in the municipality, in the Southwest direction. In addition, it is located at 25.0 kilometers from La Yesca, which is the capital of the municipality, in the West direction.
