Chocholá is a Municipality of 4530 inhabitants, placed in the State of Yucatán, with a fertility rate of 2.48 children per woman. 2.41% of the population migrated from outside the State of Yucatán. 61.61% of the population is indigenous, 31.60% of the inhabitants speak one indigenous language, and 0.58% speak that indigenous language, but not Spanish.

87.59% of the inhabitants of Chocholá are Catholic, 52.64% are economically active and, within this active population, 98.25% are employed. Additionally, 96.28% of the dwellings have piped water and 2.10% have Internet access.
