The place of Tanchanaco is inside the municipality of Aquismón (in the State of San Luis Potosí). There are 978 inhabitants. It is the most populated town in the position #11 of the whole municipality. Tanchanaco is at 80 meters of altitude.
This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Tam tzana ´c (Tanchanaco). The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
