The town of Xalocán belongs to the municipality of Chilapa de Álvarez (State of Guerrero). There are 33 inhabitants and it is 1,799 meters altitude. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #160 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Xalokán, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2020, the locality changed its name.
