The town of Viña Sol belongs to the municipality of Chihuahua (State of Chihuahua). It is the most populated town in the position #203 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as San Isidro, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
