The town of Ampliación 6 de Junio belongs to the municipality of Ixtapaluca (State of Estado de México). There are 2,452 inhabitants and it is 2,471 meters altitude. In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #10 of the ranking.

The locality was formerly known as Tierras Comunales (Cerro de Ayotla), but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
