The town of Tanchanaco belongs to the municipality of Aquismón (State of San Luis PotosÃ). There are 978 inhabitants and it is 80 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Aquismón is 9 minutes away by car (9 km). It is the most populated town in the position #11 of the whole municipality.
This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Tam tzana ´c (Tanchanaco). The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
