The town of Santa Rita belongs to the municipality of La Independencia (State of Chiapas). There are 65 inhabitants and it is 1,089 meters altitude. It is the most populated town in the position #52 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as Santa Rita el Cobán, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2020, the locality changed its name.
