The town of San Pedro Palomeque belongs to the municipality of Mérida (State of Yucatán). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #104 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as San Pedro, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2014, this location joined Mérida. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
