The town of San Mateo Acatitlán belongs to the municipality of Valle de Bravo (State of Estado de México). There are 1,181 inhabitants and it is 2,001 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Valle de Bravo is 6 minutes away by car (5 km). It is the most populated town in the position #14 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Acatitlán. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
