The town of San Lucas Nextetelco belongs to the municipality of Juan C. Bonilla (State of Puebla). There are 1,537 inhabitants and it is 2,199 meters altitude. The Magical Town of San Pedro Cholula is 14 minutes away by car (10 km).

The locality was formerly known as Nextetelco, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of the community became separated from those of Santa María Zacatepec in the year 2010. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
