The town of El Coco belongs to the municipality of Centla (State of Tabasco). It's a beach town: the beach of Playa El Bosque is 20 km away. The Magical Town of Frontera is 16 minutes away by car (11 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #137 of the ranking.
This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as San José (El Coco de Simón Sarlat). In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
