The town of Hielo Noreste belongs to the municipality of Hidalgo (State of Nuevo León). There are 14 inhabitants and it is 561 meters altitude. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #4 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Riberas de la Cueva, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
