The town of Rancho San Marcos (Oaxaca) belongs to the municipality of San Pedro Pochutla. There are 13 inhabitants and it is 320 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Mazunte is 42 minutes away by car (40 km).

The locality was formerly known as La Simpatía, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2019.
