This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Rancho Nuevo. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.

To locate this beautiful town within the municipality, you must know that El Chaparral is located at 3.1 kilometers (in direction Southwest) from the locality of Almoloya (San Jerónimo Almoloya), which is the one that has more inhabitants within the municipality. Also, from the capital of the municipality (Cuautinchán) it is at 5.0 kilometers in direction Southwest.
