The town of Las Quintas belongs to the municipality of Tangancícuaro (State of Michoacán). The Magical Town of Paracho de Verduzco is 81 minutes away by car (66 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #38 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Quinta Liera Ávalos, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2016.
