The town of Valle Verde belongs to the municipality of Tonanitla (State of Estado de México). There are 299 inhabitants and it is 2,239 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Tepotzotlán is 39 minutes away by car (30 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #4 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Prolongación Dieciocho de Marzo, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
