The town of Poxtla (State of Mexico) belongs to the municipality of Ayapango. There are 985 inhabitants and it is 2,443 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Tlayacapan is 59 minutes away by car (43 km). It is the most populated town in the position #3 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as San Cristóbal Poxtla. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
