The town of De Parral belongs to the municipality of Cortazar (State of Guanajuato). There are 1,096 inhabitants and it is 1,729 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Yuriria is 61 minutes away by car (46 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #7 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Parra, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
