The town of Paixtzán belongs to the municipality of Tanlajás (State of San Luis Potosí). There are 407 inhabitants and it is 241 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Aquismón is 16 minutes away by car (14 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #18 of the ranking.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Paitzán. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
