The town of Pahuacán belongs to the municipality of Ayapango (State of Estado de México). There are 871 inhabitants and it is 2,538 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Tlayacapan is 59 minutes away by car (41 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #4 of the ranking.

The locality was formerly known as San Martín Pahuacán, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
