The town of Llano de la Tecata belongs to the municipality of Hidalgo (State of Michoacán). There are 29 inhabitants and it is 2,100 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Mineral de Angangueo is 55 minutes away by car (43 km). It is the most populated town in the position #151 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as Los Tizates (Llano de la Tecata), but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2019, this location joined Ciudad Hidalgo. This town decided to change its name in the year 2016.
