The town of El Tinaco belongs to the municipality of Irimbo (State of Michoacán). There are 179 inhabitants and it is 2,200 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Mineral de Angangueo is 34 minutes away by car (31 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #23 of the ranking.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Los Hoyos (El Tinaco). This town decided to change its name in the year 2019.
