The town of El Tepeyac (Chiapas) belongs to the municipality of Venustiano Carranza. It is the most populated town in the position #158 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as Los Altos del Carmen, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2015.
