The town of Las Parotas (Guerrero) belongs to the municipality of Iguala de la Independencia. There are 117 inhabitants and it is 813 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Taxco is 42 minutes away by car (32 km). It is the most populated town in the position #40 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as Las Palmas, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2015.
