The town of La Palma belongs to the municipality of Manzanillo (State of Colima). It's a beach town: the beach of Playa El Coco is 11 km away. It is the most populated town in the position #119 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as Lanca, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2019.
