The Magical Town of Metepec is 25 minutes away by car (24 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #26 in terms of number of inhabitants.
The locality was formerly known as Barrio La Joya, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
