The town of Las Colmenas (Hidalgo) belongs to the municipality of Tulancingo de Bravo. There are 171 inhabitants and it is 2,162 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Acaxochitlán is 16 minutes away by car (16 km). It is the most populated town in the position #31 of the whole municipality.

You may know this town as La Colmena, because this was its former name. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
