The town of La Bendición de Dios belongs to the municipality of Jonuta (State of Tabasco). The Magical Town of Palizada is 31 minutes away by car (25 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #96 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as La Bendición (La Tijera), but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2014.
