The Magical Town of Villa del carbón is 45 minutes away by car (40 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #7 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Jiquipilco el Viejo Centro, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
