The town of Ixcacuatitla belongs to the municipality of Chicontepec (State of Veracruz). There are 738 inhabitants and it is 477 meters altitude. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #10 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Ixcahuatitla de los Pinos, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2016.
