The town of El Garabato belongs to the municipality of Jalpa (State of Zacatecas). There are 12 inhabitants and it is 1,419 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Calvillo is 72 minutes away by car (52 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #136 in terms of number of inhabitants.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as El Tranchete. In the year 2019, the locality changed its name.
