The town of El Potrero (Hidalgo) belongs to the municipality of Acatlán. There are 115 inhabitants and it is 2,111 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Huasca de Ocampo is 24 minutes away by car (24 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #42 in terms of number of inhabitants.

You may know this town as El Potrero la Peñuela, because this was its former name. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
