The town of Coayuca belongs to the municipality of Atotonilco de Tula (State of Hidalgo). There are 405 inhabitants and it is 2,324 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Tepotzotlán is 54 minutes away by car (39 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #16 of the ranking.

The locality was formerly known as Cuayuca, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
