The town of Colonia Morelos belongs to the municipality of Tenancingo (State of Estado de México). There are 381 inhabitants and it is 2,129 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Malinalco is 18 minutes away by car (16 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #45 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Morelos, but changed its name a few years ago. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
