The town of Barrio la Venta belongs to the municipality of Toluca (State of Estado de México). There are 789 inhabitants and it is 2,696 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Metepec is 6 minutes away by car (6 km). It is the most populated town in the position #64 of the whole municipality.

The locality was formerly known as Colonia la Venta, but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to change its name in the year 2010.
